Sinuous neck turned and Deoneth regarded Xyruth for a moment. He was different from the blue she was accustomed to. Perhaps she'd insulted him? No, I wasn't going to say it. I've thought of it. It passes. An intriguing thought though.
"Okay." She nodded. "He's just there." His words about J'fel leaving her bothered her. Not because she was attached to the bronzer but...She didn't want him to go. There was so much fun to be had, even with her...limitations. Hiding the thoughts from Deoneth, who looked up at her rider in concern, Salina winced at her friend's words.
"Don't remind me," she muttered, glancing away but her gaze skittered back to him, a smirk unwillingly alighting upon her face as he spoke of acting. That would be fun. She could see one of them doing that, definitely. It just spoke of their friendship.
The arm around her shoulders spoke of it too. She rested her head against him once more, eyes closing. "I know. I was right there. When he was done with her, he came for me." She shrugged and then hugged him, suddenly fierce at his next little speech. "I know, Ez. Thank you. Really."
She didn't know where his thoughts went and wasn't sure she'd want to know if she did, but she gave him another squeeze before releasing him. It was good to have a friend such as him. Salina sighed softly, head pillowed on Ez'ki for a moment. She knew he was protecting her but how would he feel if he really knew how she felt?
She wasn't sure she could tell him that.
She grabbed onto the topic he threw at her with vigor. "Oh, our classmates are fine, I suppose. They're classmates. I like I'dalyn though. He's a strong rider and a good man. He's also totally exasperated by you." Eyes rolled skyward and she laughed.

Ez’ki smiled placed a kiss into her hair, didn’t really continue their conversation, it was likely best that they let that die now. But then a grin broadened once more and he laughed. “Ha! Why should you be the only one exasperated by me, eh Sassie?” He laughed raucously. “Ironically I like I’dalyn.” He smirked, tremors off his laughter still shaking through him. “Mmm, the lads are all fairly decent, K’mar – I’m not sure on him, it’s like he finds it difficult to do anything but learn. I don’t understand that.” He shook his head confused. “I like Z’dayi, even if he is a bronzer.” He smirked, “I don’t like those high ranking ones as a rule.” He shook his head playfully, “Tend to be too up themselves about their rank and whatnot.” He smiled at her, lopsided as ever.
Xyr stood, turned around upon himself, inability to keep still showing quite broadly now. Mmm. I like being me, it is pretty fun generally speaking. The blue shifted again, his tail swished side to side. Ez’ki-mine, can we please move now, it’s pretty here yes, but I can’t abide this. Ez’ki laughed,
“Mind if we go for a walk? Xyr’s getting all impatient, and antsy.” He smiled at the blue reached out a hand, scratched the blue eyeridges, the small dragon crooned and butted his head into Ez’s hand.

She laughed and gave him a little bump. "Oh, yes, indeed. Why just me?" She snickered and then nodded. "Yeah, they all appear to be good fellows. Z'dayi's not your normal bronze. It's nice." She flashed a grin. "You're right on K'mar, of course. I just can't tell with him sometimes. There's just...something there, you know?"
At his last words, eyes narrowed in mock anger and she pushed him away, climbing to her feet and glaring down at him with arms folded over her chest. "Oh really? You don't like the highly-ranked?" She tossed her head, putting on a very well played front of anger and indignation. "And I'm what to you then, huh?"
Deoneth shifted and got to her feet as her rider did, feeling more rested than she had before. Yes, I like being me too. It's fun, like you said. She butted Salina lightly and the girl reached over, stroking her head.
"A walk would be nice, I think." She eyed him speculatively and then sailed past, all regal and frosty ice. After a few steps, she turned and laughed, face alight with humor. "What do you think? Can I pull of the whole 'bonded of a queen' thing very well?"

He swung himself up onto his feet, watched her parade around – foolishly. He stifled laughter, “Yes, yes very good.” He turned away trying not to laugh at her directly. She just didn’t have the pride and arrogance to pull that off. “No offence Sassie, but stay as you are eh? You’ve not got the pride nor the arrogance for that look. Me. On the other hand.” He pulled a cold, hardness over himself, that immediately gave the impression of ‘I’m better than you’ and walked past her with a defiantly confident manner. He melted again, “I think I can just get away with it,” He smirked. “Don’t think I’ll ever be a bonded of a queen. Not unless I end up with some camp as hell weyrmate.” He laughed hard again, found his own joke rather highly amusing.
“mmm, see her to me.” He paused thinking it through, “Salina, well she’s her,” He shrugged, “Salina’s not a gold rider to me, Sassie, who I met as a candidate, and despite being weyrbred, she’s not up herself.” He smirked. “And no I don’t like high rankers, they tend to be arrogant people. And that grates. But I’dalyn. I don’t really know, he might despair of me, but I think it’s mainly because he doesn’t expect much of me except to behave. And I can deal with that. Generally speaking.” He added that uncertainty on purpose. “But you do it to. You’ve got expectations of me, okay no. They’re not expectations, they’re different.” He paused thinking again, “It’s more like you want me to conform, because you know it’ll give me problems if I don’t.” He smirked.
Xyruth bounced, pranced over to his bonded, back to Deoneth, encouraging the gold to rise, Where should we go? It’s a shame we can’t fly, we could go anywhere. He said cheerily, electricity back into his tone, eyes whirring with cheer and happiness.

She sighed, feigning disappointment. "Drat. I was hoping I could pull of Aderes." She grinned and watched him, applauding when he was done and sweeping him an elaborate curtsy, lifting invisible skirts and bowing to him. "Very well done."
She listened to his explanation, biting her tongue to keep from speaking. She was just Sassie to him. Relief welled within her. It was such a relief, just to be thought of who you were and not as what you'd become. What you'd gained.
"I do wish you would conform, Ez," she murmured. "It's not in your nature to, but yes, it would be easier for you. You wouldn't have to struggle and you wouldn't be thought of as the cheeky bluerider. It would be easier." She reached out, touching his cheek. "But I know you won't." Her smile was just tinged with sadness before she composed herself.
Deoneth pushed to her feet, not at Xyruth's urging, she didn't need him to tell her it was time to go. She shook her wings out before folding them into place. It would be wonderful to fly but we are too young yet. A walk is pleasant enough for now. She gently reprimanded the blue.

Ez’ki gave her ra pleasant smile, “See, I recocgnise its because you care. But I’m not going to be anything other than me, you wouldn’t like it if I were anything other than me now would you?” He asked rhetorically hoping that the answer in her mind was what he was hoping for, “besides, what am if I’m not a cheeky, disobedient, ravishingly handsome, and well dressed blue rider?” He smiled, “Don’t you ever fret about situations I put myself in, I’m a big, smart boy, I know exactly what I’m getting into, where and when. I know the consequences of my actions, and usually I’m prepared for what will come as a result.” He draped and arm over her shoulder. Pulling her tight to him, “but how’s this for compromise, I’ll behave a little,” He smiled, hoping that would make her at least the smallest piece happy.
Xyr pranced about circling the trio; I’m sorry Deoneth, I’m just a little too energetic, I don’t mean to irritate. He had involved his bonded on that comment, And Ez’ki turned to the small queen, “It’s true, Deoneth. He’s harmless, he just wishes to be active, and the quicker the better.” He smiled at the queen, fondly one might say, possibly because it was her that had made Sassie’s dreams come true. “He doesn’t mean anything by it my queen.” He smiled, giving a small bow.

She smiled and nodded, feeling good humor return. "Yes. You wouldn't be the Ez I so hate to love if you weren't cheeky, well-dressed and just the slightest bit mischievous." She winked, wondering if he'd notice she'd left out the handsome part. "You better behave or else you'll have me to answer to," she muttered, elbowing him lightly.
I do not mind. You just need to be aware and glad for the things you have now. But then, as the blue's rider spoke with her, Deoneth's head tilted, eyes whirling happily especially at the bow Salina's boy made. He was charming. Salina laughed at her gold's thoughts and leaned over to Ez.
"Deoneth says she likes you and thinks you're charming. You just might be too much for your own good. She also said she knows Xyruth is harmless and she is fond of him." The girl grinned, reaching out to take her friend's hand. "High compliments from a queen."

Bowing lower this time, “My thanks, to you Deoneth, Xyruth and I are eternally in your grace.” He smiled, returning his cheeky grin back to the bonded of the queen, “Very high compliments, but her bonded seems to miss of the fact that her rider is handsome” He raised his brow, quirky expression coming to his face. “I advise you don’t toy with me gold rider, I can be a fierce enemy.” He chastised playfully. “But I know, No one would have me any other way. Except for maybe I’dalyn. J’fel. K’houry.” He shrugged, as the list of names was getting slowly longer and longer, “what does it matter. I will never be anything I am not.” He shrugged an continued on their walk. Ez’ki took her hand, laced his fingers through hers, again announcing their size difference, he just smiled fondly.
He smirked, “someone neds to don’t they? Love me I mean.” He smirked, letting it fade quickly into a look of self pity, brown eyes working lovely with a perfectly doe-eyed look.
Xyr slowed to a trot beside the trio, I am glad, and grateful, amongst other things. But I want more. I want to be able to go further, to do more, to actually obtain more. I want to be kept bust, to move, to progress. But sometimes I wonder if that is not what Mine wishes for us. He is a bold person that is certain, he keeps me entertained, and keeps me on a single track, but it’s a well beaten track, and I don’t wish for us to follow a pre-made path for us forever. Highly uncharacteristic for the blue, but he was ambitious, he just didn’t usually have the attention span for it. Not at this age at very least. He flared his wings, shedding his agitation like a spare skin.
Will we ever rbe more than this? We will Xyr, I know we will. Ez’ki was a little shocked at his blues question, but replied with a tender, yet confident tone. Hoping that his little one wouldn’t get too disheartened.

Salina put a hand over her mouth to hide the wide smile that had taken residence there, also hoping the flesh pressed to her lips would stiffle the amused chuckle that surfaced as Ez'ki continued the show. She nodded at his would-be-chastising words, affecting a very serious look in her efforts to maintain whatever game they were playing now.
"Oh, yes, I know. A fierce enemy indeed." But she grimaced as he noted down those who would have him change, though she decided not to mention that the majority of that small list were very high-ranked indeed and could cause Ez quite a fair bit of discomfort if he didn't follow the expectations set forward by the men.
As fingers linked, the girl sighed, leaning against the bluerider once more, feeling a lazy and lethargic sleepiness come about her. This was comfort, this was love, when being with someone put that sleepy, safe feeling in you. She sighed as she watched him, still content, even as she turned and touched his cheek with a hand, keeping her other locked with his. She wondered if he found it amusing that she had to go on tiptoe to reach his face.
"I love you," she murmured quietly. "Perhaps not in the way most perceive it to be, but I do. You have a part of me, Ez my darling, and no one will ever take it from you. I promise." She laid lips to his gently, soothingly. She was nearly positive he'd been in jest but he had to know and she had to remind him at every oppurtunity. She never wanted an occassion like the one that had separated them to arise again.
Deoneth watched Xyruth with sharpened interest as he spoke with her, her head tilted and eyes swirling with her curiousity. How strange. He certainly was acting outside the bounds of a normal blue. But then again, when had he ever been normal?
It is good you want to progress and move up and good as well that you don't want to follow the path laid out before you. Sometimes, we have to, but it is good to see so much determination in one of your stature. I'm sure you can convince Yours. If not you, who else? Deoneth meant it all as straightforward as it was said, even her gold mind not realizing that the last part of her statement could easily be construed wryly as a joke. Alas, to be a dragon.

Ez’ki chuckled, “You know I know that Sassie, just as I don’t need to say it vice versa” He winked, darted away from her, spun himself around (perhaps a little too much energy come influence in from his bonded at this point) hair flying out about him as he did, bangles and accoutrements clinking and chiming in the process before coming to a rest, mischievous grin took his lips into a quick daring smirk, “But I just like hearing it.” He skipped for a few steps looked down back towards the Weyr, grass rolling away from them, wind blowing against it, making it ripple like the sea, emerald in the golden twilight that was setting in.
He called over the growing wind, “And I’ll always be yours Sassie!” Grinning like a fool at that moment, tawny eyes alight with joy, mischief, boldness, and that overzealous attitude of his.
Xyr stretched again, this slow movement was causing his muscles to tighten as opposed to loosen, and as his bonded went skipping and dancing off. The blue bounced after him, joining his bonded with a few rhythmic steps of his own, wings darting out, as though trying to catch the wind and take to the air, they caught the wind only in so far as to make his jumps longer/shorter dependent upon the direction he took. Xyr slowed again, coming back to the side of the gold, still frivolous and light hearted especially in his stride. I guess you’re right, he could not do it himself. The blue sounded bemused. Solid in his own convictions and those of his bonded, but together they were stronger. But his mind began to dance upon the shores of other subjects. Skipping away from reality as his thoughts entertained the plains of impossibility, and the mountains of possibilities.

Salina watched as the bluerider bounded away, feeling his energy begin to rub off on her. She laughed and darted after him, legs flashing as she joined the dragon and man, the wind tossing at her hair and pulling the golden tresses away, making them shimmer and dance as she came to his side, grinning widely, gray eyes playful and reflecting her age-for once, perhaps.
"Oh, you're a wherry!" She laughed and tossed her head, the wind pushing her hair back and forth, whipping across her face and back. She pushed at her friend lightly and then was bounding a few steps away, entire face alight. "You better believe you're mine!"
She laughed then and then was wheeling around in a circle, arms flung out as she faced the sky, watching the blue revolve around her, intermixed with the flash of green from the grass. She was laughing the entire time, uncontrollably happy.
Deoneth sat on the grass and watched the festivities, eyes whirling happily as Xyruth bounded towards her. He seemed much more positive. She gave the dragon equivalent of a laugh for his comment. Perhaps not. She was up then, her rider's mood affecting her and she began to weave in and out around the girl as she spun, laughing still.

He grinned like a fool still. She actually acted her age every now and then, then. “C’mon Sassie.” He smirked slowing his pace a little, falling into her stride, “What do you want to do then?” He smiled peacefully. Slipped his long arm about her waist, but only in a chummy fashion, he hummed contentedly, pressing his cheek to the top of her head.
“You should smile like that more often.” He said, her smile lit up her face. She looked such a happy person at that moment, as though there were nothing in the world that she cared about except for that single moment in time. He sighed heavily, he still felt really light footed, and felt as though the wind, and the sun’s warmth made him want to be able to just exalt his freedom.
Xyruth chirped I think there is no conditional about it Deoneth, mine is a highly flamboyant layabout. I have had no thoughts pointing towards any sort of ambition even flicker through his mind. The blue took on a slightly mocking tone though the best part of it was honest.

Salina's smile only turned wider as Ez'ki joined her. Her head tilted, gray eyes considering and reflecting a bit of the dizziness she was beginning to feel. As he slipped an arm about her waist and effectively wrapped himself about her, the goldrider wrapped both her arms about him, full dizziness kicking in now. She hugged herself all the tighter to him as her head spun drunkenly and the world seemed to tilt.
She giggled, pressing her face against his midsection and then glancing up at him, that smile he spoke of flashing across her face again. "Really? You think so? Why's that?" Her head tilted to the side and she staggered, surprise flickering across her face as she instinctively grabbed at him again. "Oh, whoa! Sorry. Wasn't expecting that." Salina leaned back, arms still hooked about Ez'ki's waist to look into his face, her cheeks flushed with rose and her eyes bright. "Can we just hang out until we can't? I missed you a lot, Ez and it's really good to have you back."
Deoneth eyed her rider and the boy consideringly, wondering if maybe they were both lying to her and Xyruth. But wouldn't the two of them know? The gold shook the thought off. I'm glad to see you've accepted your fate. Mine is good and too trusting, but she works hard. She really wants to stay here. She wants to very bad.

Sighing heavily he gave a hollow laugh, “Why? Why should you smile like that more often, well one it will give you wrinkles when you are old – though that isn’t a fantastic thing, also, it will keep you young, it will always give you that spark, I mean look at those who don’t have it, they’re older by default. K’houry, P’nset, and the some of the others,“ He shrugged, satisfied with that, though the satisfaction didn’t quite get his point across, “Besides, you’re too young to be so serious all of the time Sassie.” He smiled faintly, warmly, and as she stumbled slightly, he caught her - naturally.
“Don’t apologise, you don’t have to with me, not anymore.” He shook his head and laughed, again it was slightly hollow, mirthless – not as much as previously, but still it was there. “Yeah, we can stay here, and you know I missed you too.” He loosed his hold on her, something had hit and he didn’t know what it was that was affecting his mood, but it was sombre, there was something disturbingly un-light about it.
Xyruth cackled electrically, his mind broiling over with anticipation, excitement, and unbound energy, crackling through his voice, perhaps taking the opposite to his bonded at that moment, Mmm. Yours is good though! She deserves nothing more, and you are the best that could be for her. The best! As I am, as Mine and Yours both are! Between the four of us, there shall be no wrong within the Weyr within three turns. Come Red star or High-water, we will solve it. Caminar or holderfolk, we will prevail. His tone was slightly foolhardy, but his heart was in the correct place, and there was naught but adoration and determination there.

Salina didn't understand Ez'ki's mood change. How could he not be having fun when her head was still swaying and it felt like the world was so close, she could touch it? Sky, grass, the heavens above. She felt like if she reached a little higher, a little higher, her fingers would come in contact with that unknown substance and everything might change again.
"All right." She nodded and then decided that wasn't the best idea as the world spun again. She let her arms fall from him as he did, eyes closing slightly as she tried to gain control. She didn't like the spinning now, it was making her feel ill. She felt like she'd done something wrong and tried to hold it down, tried to hide it. He was always so good at reading her.
Deoneth started slightly at the pure energy that came off of Xyruth in waves. It felt as if he was bolting you with electricity when he was this pumped up. She settled back, her own calm coming over her. Slow down there. I believe we can do many many things but this is for the future. Right now, you are the very best for your Mine and you two will be good, I think. Yes, very good.
