“This is so great!” Genet yelled to the mountains and the night sky. “We found a star. A real live- Well, not live. But a real star!” She danced around the hole humming a fast tune to herself as she watched Emeni. Drat! The other girl got to touch it first. The rock was warm to the touch, almost still hot, but had been lying out in the cool evening long enough to not burn.
“I want to touch!” she said while kneeling down to reach out with both hands to try to touch it as well. “This is more exciting than touching stupid old eggs,” she declared before looking at D’ray and grinning. “No offense or anything.” Because she meant none. “Do you want to touch it too?” she asked the rider as she didn’t move over to give room or anything.
Someone would have to carry it back she knew and before someone else might say it she called, “Dibs on carrying it back!” Haha! It would be Genet who arrived triumphant with the rock in hand. Genet the Great Star Hunter. If only G’tet were around. “We’ll have to share it,” she decides.

Emeni let out a little "oooh" when her finger touched the star, finding how warm it was. More than just a fingertip now, she pressed her hands onto it, careful to leave room for Genet to touch it, then flipped them over and let the star heat the backs of her hands, too. The race had gotten her blood pumping and made her body warm, but it still felt good feel it on her skin.
"Oh, yeah," she said, prompted by Genet's question to make room for D'ray in case he wanted to touch the star. Deciding she'd had enough of it, herself, Emeni took her hands back completely and gestured to the brownrider to step forward and take her place, if he wanted. "It does feel pretty good. I never went egg-touching or nothin', but it's real warm."
Now that she was away from the star, her hands were feeling cold. Lucky Genet, getting to carry it home! But that was only fair. Emeni started to stick her hands in her pockets, then remembered the dragon had just arrived, so she took a moment to wave a greeting and then stick her hands in her pockets.

D'ray smiled at both girls, but merely reached out to touch the stone with his bare hands. No sense in holding it, let the girls have their fun with it. He'd done what he wanted, which was go on an adventure. D'ray climbed atop his dragon and mounted, looking at the two girls then extending his hand to help them up. Emeni may have had nothing to do with his gentleman like ways, but he felt it was necessary to help the two girls up and steady them as they ascended. Also, politeness was always a necessary must.
"Let's show everyone back at the weyr what we stumbled across, eh?", he asked them with an energetic smile. Oh just wait until his wing heard about this one! Another story to tell! How he found a star in the dark mountains with two ladies! Certainly no lies would be held in this story, but perhaps stretched truths. D'ray always liked to make his stories flashy and more than they really were.

At their return to the Weyr being so imminent Genet looks a little disappointed. She likely had considered staying out longer, but with her ride ready to depart she couldn’t do anything but let out a little wistful sigh. Why was everyone always in such a rush to go home? At least she had her star and she got to carry it home! That would have to suffice for now. Maybe she could get someone else to bring her out in the daytime to look for more.
Since she had the rock to carry she took the assistance offered by D’ray to get back on Pharoth. “Ok!” she said loud enough to be sure Emeni on the ground and D’ray on Pharoth could hear, “I should get the star tomorrow because it was my expedition.” A word she’d read somewhere and always wanted to use. “Then tomorrow night before I go to bed I will give it to Emeni and then that night before she goes to bed it goes to D’ray who has to bring it back to me. That way we can all have a turn to show our friends. But no keeping it from everyone else.”
She thought a moment and then added, "And no losing it or letting someone else keep it or selling it or anything like that either!" She did not know D'ray at all and couldn't be sure what dumb ideas he might get. She trusted Emeni, but it seemed best to just make a blanket statement so as not to offend.

Emeni nodded, rocking back and forth on the balls of her feet. "I'll be extra careful," she promised. "Never let it out of my sight." She pulled a hand out of her pocket to tap two meaningful fingers under her eyes, then flashed her companions a grin. "So we're good, then. I guess we go home?" She glanced back at D'ray, already climbing onto his brown, and shrugged. She, too, had been expecting more time with the rock, but - "The sooner home, the sooner we can show it off," she said cheerfully.
She wandered over to Pharoth's side, giving the brown dragon a pat, but D'ray wasn't completely forgiven for his earlier sleaziness. Emeni was waiting for Genet to climb onto the brown, and then she could climb up while he was busy helping the other girl. That way, she didn't have to turn her nose up at his offered assistance, she would just manage to squeeze around it.

D'ray helped lift Genet onto his dragon's back with Emeni following suit on her own. "Off we go", D'ray said with a smirk and his dragon took to the skies at his command. The trip was relatively short. Well, it seemed shorter than the flight there. But perhaps that was due to the hype of trying to find a star. Now, the star was already found. He had motioned his head to agree with the set up of how they would tend to the star. D'ray didn't care much if he got it or not. Though, it'd make for an interesting conversation piece.
Pharoth found a spot to land in the bowl and a descent, along with a thud followed in quick succession. The brown crouched low to the ground this time, however, to allow easier descent to the ground. "Hope you ladies enjoyed the adventure', D'ray said with a wink. Whether or not they did, D'ray certainly found it entertaining. When they would climb off and go their own paths, D'ray would take off on Pharoth to his weyr.

The trip back to the Weyr was silent for Genet too busy thinking of the wonders of clutching a star with one hand while riding a dragon in the night. It was more excitement than she’d had in a long time. When they landed in the bowl she scrambled down without tripping over her skirt too much and grinned at the others.
“That was so fun! It was amazing! Thank you so much! I’m going to go show this off before sleeping and thanks again!” Full of energy she sprinted off to do just what she said she was going to. There’d be no sleeping tonight!
OOC: And I am out. Slim you can post a close or we’re done I think![/i]

Emeni hardly had time to react to being home again before Genet had dashed off with her star. She blinked after the other girl, then split a grin and rolled her eyes. "By Faranth, she's hyper. Seriously, though, thanks for the lift." She gave D'ray a quick, friendly pat on the shoulder and slithered down from Pharoth's back, awarding the brown a respectful curtsy before she backed away. She didn't take off the way Genet had done, but she did pick up a brisk walk, whistling to herself as she strode to the lower caverns.
