I finally finished something worth showing off, so I decided that I should mark a thread here as my own and post bits of my art for others to see. I'll be adding onto this thread as I come up with things to share. Critiques are more than welcome, as well as any other input that anyone would like to add. DjacinthForgive the speckles around the edges. I don't have the energy to make the background completely transparent. Anyway, this is half of a commission done for Geneva at Urbs Draconis. She wanted me to do both of the weyrling queens there, but so far I have only finished one. Djacinth's profile can be found here.My life would be so much easier if I had a scanner. Or a tablet. >.<

That's awesome. I love how you've colored her so she really does look like desert sand.

Thank you! =) That effect was surprisingly easy to achieve. I'm just glad that the shading makes the pattern seem a little less flat.

I really like the colors, too. He's like a reverse siamese kitty. My favorite thing, though, is the shape of his face and eyes. There's something very sweet and guileless about Daisulyth's expression in that image. I also think it's very cool to see an adult dragon right beneath a hatchling. Comparing the images helps me notice the things an artist can do to create a sense of youth or 'babyness' in a creature.

First of all, thanks for all the compliments. =)
I thought that exact same thing when I was drawing the tail.. Hahah. He kinda looks like an Iguanadon with a long neck and wings.
The coloration is based off of my cat! She's not Siamese, but feline nonetheless. =) I always try to convey personality with them, and I suppose that's why his face is so innocent. The classic feature of youth? A big head.
He certainly isn't plotting anyone's demise!
Thanks for the kind words, everyone.

Wow...Anhy, these are both gorgeous. Wow. Could I be you for a day or two? Or maybe for about...a couple years? I can't do anything like that.

Self portrait, with the contrast tweaked in photoshop. And yes, the hair is left blank on purpose. A poor attempt to stylize it. >.<

I found a bunch of pixel bases online and smashed them together into this, then I colored it daisulyth-style. If anyone knows of the original artist or knows that they aren't free for use. I'll take this down. Until then. Pixel! Awe. Finneth and Daisulyth. <3 Surprise xinxin!
