Name: A'jun
Gender: Male
Age: 26 turns
Rank: Bluerider
Tall and more than a little tan even long into winter, with a strong jaw and hair that would be curly if he ever allowed it to grow long enough for its body to show, A'jun could almost certainly be identified as Caminar if not for his brilliantly blue deep set eyes. Even with his broad shoulders and muscles toned from nearly a decade as a rider his movements reflect the grace his turns as a harper.
Rarely opting to wear his riding gear instead of more casual clothes as some others choose to, he prefers to wear brightly colored shirts and trousers. Gloomy looks just don't fit A'jun, who tries to keep smiling no matter what happens, even if he does not actually feel like smiling. His dress is not feminine or flamboyant, just bright enough to match his personality.
A simple, humble man, A'jun seems perpetually happy, almost always seen smiling and trying to cheer his friends up when they become too gloomy. He does not have any interest in the politics of the Weyr, prefering just to do his personal best, and if that gets him somewhere, fine, if not he is content with the life he has. This Bluerider is not all sunshine and happiness, though. Often, his smile is a cover for deep worry, almost always for his friends, who he holds dear, and while he tries to be friendly and open with everyone he meets, he will respond to any probing about his appearance that might suggest that he is possibly of Caminar descent with a mumbled denial and an almost flustered change of subject.
A'jun has never known who his parents were, and while he did ask all of the adults around him what they knew while he was growing up in the Harper Hall, no one seemed to have any idea. When he failed to get any information, he simply stopped asking, instead focusing on his studies. As mentioned, A'jun grew up in the Harper Hall, fostered by one of the kitchen women. He became an apprentice at nine turns, and did his best, though while he did well, he was not the best. He never really minded not being the best, as that meant less pressure on him to excell, though his foster mother, Kunia, urged him to try harder to reach journeyman as soon as he could. His voice broke just before he was searched, and he gladly took the opportunity to go to Fort Weyr when it was offered. He did not see himself as the dragon riding type and doubted that he would Impress, so for him, going off to Stand was more of a way to pass time that would have been spent in less enjoyable activities, such as running errands and helping in the Archives while he waited for his voice to settle into his adult range.
What seemed like a fine plan to him was thrown out the window as soon as beautiful Bishuth hatched. The midnight Blue had no doubts that the boy who did not expect to be chosen was the one he wanted. The pair worked well together, and while they did not stick out among the weyrlings, they were happy. They transferred to Telgar Weyr six turns ago for a change of scenery and, well, becuase they were told to. Nothing at all interesting had happened to them until three turns ago when on a routine sweep over the area around the Weyr, Bishuth spotted a very battered looking girl lying on the side of the road. They carried her back to the Weyr, where they learned who she was and what had happened to her.
A'jun and Kersha became quick friends, if only because he was the first person to find her. He helped her when his duties allowed him to, trusting in the cavernswomen to take care of her when he couldn't. He encouraged his friend to stand for a clutch as soon as she could and still does even though Kersha almost seems to have lost interest. He has done is best to see that she does not do anything stupid, while still remaining sympathetic.
Dragon's Name: Bishuth
Color: Blue
Age: 9 turns
Physical Description: A dark midnight blue, Bishuth's hide is practically unmarked, with only a few darker patches on his haunches. His wings and tail are in fairly good proportion to his taut, muscular frame, and he is built pretty much like the typical Blue, with good speed and agility but very inimpressive stamina.
Personality: A little flighty and maybe even a bit girly, Bishuth doesn't like to be around anyone gloomy. He is a forward thinker and doesn't let anything get him down. Bishuth is much less inclined to worry than his rider, trusting that things will come out right. He is almost childlike in his trusting nature, and this comparison is only strengthened by his often clownish actions.
