Name: D'ray (Duray(Dure-ae))
Gender: Male
Age: 20
Rank: Brownrider
Wing: Blizzard
D'ray is a young man with fair skin, attributing to a sense of youth. His eyes are a sea green and his hair is long and light brown. He currently stands at 5'10, around an average height. He doesn't really have much muscle to him, like some riders which makes him seem a bit smaller when compared to other riders. But don't let this fool you, D'ray can handle his own, though no one's really been known to mess with the brownrider. His fair skin, well balanced features, and long, well groomed hair along with those sea green eyes and long eyelashes may make one think he is a pretty boy. His usual color wear involves oddly shaded blues, reds, greens, and other colors that aren't so plain. Infact most of his clothes are either bold or loud, further attributing to the rider's personality. Sometimes he's been known to surprise, wearing more formal wear to a not so formal event or vice versa. This only makes the rider further unpredictable.
D'ray would be what one may consider a class clown, an oddball. His sense of humor is crazy and random and there may be no telling what comes out of his mouth. Though the brownrider always seems to be of good cheer. To catch the young man in a sour moment would be rare indeed and not even a handful have seen him in such a state. He usually makes light of a serious situation, not being one for serious at all. Though to his comrades, he's a constant source of energy and humor that they seem to have come to rely on. As a dragonrider he can tend to slack off, putting things off for later until it may be too late. However, when the situation warrents, D'ray could surely become serious and decisive, coming through in a pinch. However, most of his life has been care free and not many would want to change the rider's attitude. D'ray also tends to be flirty with women and can be a charmer when he wants, though sometimes his off the wall personality can come off as a bit much and chase some of the potential away. He rarely has a problem with anyone as well, attributing to how laid back and worry free the man can be. Considering such a character, D'ray really has no problem with the Caminar, nor the new weyrleader.
D'ray's life started out simple enough, born in Telgar hold. Being the middle child of what was a considerably large family of five children, D'ray found attention hard to come by. As he grew up, he seemed alone and with little to no friends. Compared to his life now, D'ray had no personality. He was simply some kid with a sad frown on his face at the age of 7 turns. As he got older this seemed to change, though not in a good way. As the kids grew older to around age 10, they seemed to get meaner. D'ray found himself the constant butt of their jokes and pranks and other means of bullying. After months of this he was going to change. If he couldn't beat these kids, then he would join him. How would one go about this, you would ask? He made himself a personality no one could adapt to. The kind where one could watch all week and still be surprised every moment. This caught the attention of the other kids and he found favor among them. Though he wasn't a fellow among them, he was simply entertainment. For D'ray, this change couldn't be temporary, it had to be permanent if he were to stay in their good graces. As time passed on, D'ray found himself in more and more trouble as he hung out with this group of kids.
Finally at age 13, D'ray was pulled aside by his parents. Finally he had the attention he so desperately wanted, but really it wasn't what he wanted. His parents were furious, yelling and screaming at him for being so stupid. D'ray couldn't help but break over it. Finally he had caught the eye of his parents and he was nothing but a deliquent moron to them. His parents had made up their minds. Having some good standing in the hold, they pulled strings and D'ray was brought to Telger weyr, along with some others. But was he brought because strings were pulled or because he was really chosen? Only time would tell. D'ray found life tough and lonely at the weyr, as if he started all over again. However, he wasn't going to stand it for long. Getting the attention that only D'ray knew how, his personality became a huge play in getting him the friends he wanted. Instead of being used and mistreated and simply using it to survive, D'ray found it was his distinct personality that affected other candidates around him and the group formed a tight knit. However, most considered D'ray the class clown and figured he wasn't meant to be a dragonrider and if he was it may be a green or blue. His personality didn't seem strong enough for any other color.
However, when it came time to stand at the hatching sands, D'ray found himself late as usual with dragonets already roaming the sands. None seemed to be chosen however. He took note of the green and brown that searched among the males and D'ray was quick to approach. As he made himself steady among the other males, as though he had never been late, a voice spoke out to him and called his name. At first he thought he had been caught and would be reprimanded, but the voice assured him of such silly thoughts. The young boy looked down to notice a brown looking up at him, begging for his bonded to feed him. The brown was his and he was the first to impress, leaving the sands as quickly as he had come and impressing in a style that only he could. Quick and unpredictable. At age 15, D'ray had impressed. Weyrlinghood found him as the class clown and the weyrlingmaster's least favorite. He was constantly overloaded with extra chores for his behavior, seeming never to keep quiet when he should or always telling a joke when it wasn't appropriate. However, he and his brown survived to become full fledged riders. As a rider, D'ray is still considered the comical wise guy, though a bit of a slacker. Perhaps this is from being constantly overworked during weyrlinghood. However, despite the issues he had in the past, D'ray always seems to find himself surrounded by his friends or atleast those who hold no hostility towards him. When the Caminar first rolled into the weyr, D'ray was one to welcome them and search among what they were selling. Making such naturally friendly efforts towards the Caminar, has put him in the good graces of some of them and he's not beyond an occassional visit for some "business" as he would call it, which is really idle chit chat while looking over what ever wears or food that may be around. A few months ago, some time after J'fel became weyrleader, D'ray found himself transferred into the young bronzerider's wing. Considering D'ray's attitude, he found the weyrleader acceptable and being added to his wing was an honor as far as D'ray was concerned.
Dragon's Name: Pharoth (Fare-oth)
Color: Brown
Age: 4
Size: 24
Physical Description: Given D'ray's comical personality, some would be surprised that he impressed such a large brown. The dragon's large frame is bulky and packed with muscle, the neck is especially muscular and thick. The brown has a chocolate color over most of his body, though the tips of his wings, tail and his underbelly and uner his neck have some ligher brown flares, like caramel color almost. Pharoth is a big, healthy dragon of 6 turns, rarely having been sick or injured.
Personality:
Pharoth is much calmer than his bonded and speaks in a mannered, seemingly logical tone. Much like his rider, Pharoth has a sense of humor but he chooses not to use it as much as his rider does. Pharoth, however, shares D'ray's sense of procrastination or downright laziness. Infact some would consider him lazier than his rider. However, Pharoth can be motivated into working and doing what needs to be done. Though this motivation usually comes from food, baths, or oilings. The dragon loves to be pampered. Proud, lazy yet sensible, this is Pharoth.
