Physical Description
T'nur
T'nur is quite different from what anyone would ever expect as the normal stereotypic for a Weyrling, and it's not due to his young age. While most boys are broad, with light but strong muscles from daily chores and competitions, T'nur is quite a skinny and fragile looking lad. One might be extra careful of not tapping him too hard, for fear he might break and turn to dust -- or something along those lines. However, his healthy skin and shine in his dark brown hair and sky blue eyes are effective tell tale signs of his good health. The boy's just skinny, apparently this is his body frame. One can only hope he might flesh out a bit in the coming years as he grows more and matures.
T'nur isn't quite picky on what colors he wears, he'll take any. Neither is he picky on what style to wear -- he simply choses clothing that are appropriate for each situation or event. Simple as that. However, for a reason that is not surprising, more often than not his clothes give out the appearance of looking a tad too big and baggy for such a small and skinny boy. With a height of 4'11" and a weight of roughly 95 lbs, it's not surprising many wonder just how, exactly, will such a fragile boy survive weyrlinghood.
Personality
T'nur can be considered a nervous lad, often jumping in fright at any odd and sudden sound or sight -- and almost always found shaking, even if it'd be very lightly. Whatever the reason is no one knows, but it is clear that he's one of those kids you have to approach with caution and care -- less you might spook him and have the boy flee. Still, for a rather small frame he does poses energy to burn -- and boy can T'nur run when he truly wants to. With most of the kids -- whether of his age, younger or older -- T'nur rarely associates with, preferring his quiet time over socialization. And who can blame him? He has passed through enough bullying in the past to know what the best way of avoiding it is: stay far away from the bullies, simple.
Amazingly enough he's quite trusting of his blue, and even though he might get one or a few frights every now and again T'nur is certainly much more relaxed when his bond is with him. If it were for him he'd be content to just lie days in some quiet patch of grass, playing his flute. He's no harper, or anything of the sort, but the boy is skilled enough to play lovely melodies with this instrument, and his blue adores them.
Background
An illegitimate child of the Lord Holder's eldest son, Tianur's father never admitted being his father -- let alone helped in the raising of the child. His mother, a young female that worked teaching kids to read and learn, when not in the kitchens, took the task of bringing up her son on her own. No one else except for herself and the father knew of the true heritage of Tianur -- and Beriam simply said it had been and accident with one of the traveling merchants that had been around the Hold at the time. The lack of a male figure definitely did much to hinder young Tianur, the boy lacking any self-confidence or sense of aggression. If he had the option to fight or flee, he would flee all the times without a second thought.
Very attached to his mother, Tianur always found it easier since a young age to spend time with girls rather than boys. He even learned a bit of sewing and cooking, though nothing past the basics. From his mother he learned to read and write, and from the harper at the hold he learned to play the flute. Another minor hobby of the lad was also working on the vegetable garden, his favorite plants being all kinds of spices and herbs.
He was searched quite suddenly, a group of riders had come in Search, and the dragon had pinpointed out a sweet melody. The green was so charmed she practically forced her rider to take the boy as a candidate. Whenever he had the chance he would stay in company of the man and his green, playing his flute -- for the green clearly enjoyed it very much. The day of the hatching he impressed a blue, a perfect interpretation of himself in a dragon -- at least physically. A very skinny and fragile looking blue, just like him.
Dragon: Blue Kithath
Age: Hatchling
Size: 17 ft
Color Code: SkyBlue
Description
Were he shorter, he'd be no bigger than a green. As it is, most greens outweigh him, this almost painfully slender and lanky blue. His limbs are rangy and his paws absolutely dainty, tipped with cloud-white talons. Clouds top his slim head as well, a crown of pale that dresses headknobs and neckridges, but his slender neck, bony shoulders, arched back and tucked belly are the purest azure of summer sky. His whipcord tail is so slender that both sinew and joints create shapes just visible beneath the velvety hide that cloaks them. His wingspars are knobby too, but the bachelor-button-blue sails draped from them are generous and smooth.
Personality
Never let his physique fool you: Kithath has a powerful drive to succeed. Higher, faster, farther - no goal is ever met without a new one being made. Whether his focus turns out to be on the physical or the emotional, the power or the politic - these things depend on his rider, from whose secret hopes and dreams he takes his cues. He does, however, love the feel of the wind and the sound of air rushing past when he runs or flies, and his pleasure in the particular music of the flute might just be related to these airy delights.
Inspiration
On 17 December 1903, brothers Orville and Wilbur Wright made the world's first controlled, powered and sustained heavier-than-air human flight - better known as simply the first airplane flight. Their flying machine, the Wright Flyer, was an incredibly fragile creation built from spruce wood with a custom-built alumnum-cast gasoline engine fabricated in their own bicycle shop. After its fourth flight on the 17th, a powerful gust of wind flipped it several times, damaging it severely. The Flyer never flew again.
Kithath's name is based on the name Kitty Hawk, the Wright Flyer's nickname after the location of its flight tests.
Mind Voice
Kithath's mind voice is quite sweet and alluring. Like the sound of a melodious flute, or the passing of a breeze as it ruffles softly the leaves on trees in a cool summer day. Certainly a very pleasant sound, and almost as frail seeming as his physique. Those that hear can only worry more, thinking the petite and slim blue too weak to ever survive for more than a few sevendays.
