Nocia is about five feet, five inches tall and average weight for her height. She has rounded hazel eyes and light brown hair cut to about chin length. This can make her look younger than she actually is and irritates her immensely. Her somewhat fair skin tans, but then burns. Nocia is fit but not overly athletic. As for clothing, she usually wears a blue or green set of tunic and pants, fitted loosely, but not baggy. Most of her fashion sense is based on what doesn't itch because her skin is very sensitive. She can't wear wool next to her skin because she goes crazy with itching.
She is left-handed and has a small scar on her right palm where the shears glanced off her hand when she was distracted while helping harvest the wool. There is also a rather large scar on her left knee from the fight.
Nocia is shy and quiet. She takes insults very hard and they can lead her onto a downward spiral of self-examination. She loves to read and can often be found in a records room sitting and reading something. If someone wants to make friends with her, they have to make the first move. Weaving and other kinds of working with thread are other favorite pastimes. She has sold many of her weavings, but nothing for a huge amount of Marks, and makes her own clothes now. Her favorite colors are shades of green and blue, but she will use other colors.
She has a complex about boys who are not related to her with black or dark hair because of a fight that happened at a Gather with a Caminar boy and his sister when she was six turns old. Now that she is at the Weyr, Nocia is angry that the Caminar are there and as if to add insult to injury, some of them are even Standing as Candidates like herself.
Nocia is unsure why she was Searched. She really wants to Impress a dragon but does not feel that she would be right for a strong-willed queen. Nocia deals with responsibility decently, but fears that the pressure involved with a gold would be too much for her. The green that Searched her really appealed to the young woman. Besides that, a piece of jewelery she bought her mother with marks she earned from selling her weavings had a green gemstone and her mother loved it.
Nocia is holdbred from a small hold near the much larger Telgar Hold. As a little girl, she would help her mother by cleaning the wool from the few ovines their family kept. Her relationship with her father is friendly, but distant since he was usually out taking care of the ovines with a working canine. One of her brothers is older and has married and is in his own hold while the younger two help with the ovines.
She was about six turns when she was at a Gather at Telgar Hold and another girl of about nine turns damaged one of her weavings and refused to pay what it was worth. The other girl got her brother into a fight with Nocia, and Nocia lost. She didn't tell her parents about this because she'd been told not to get the other girl angry. The girl and her brother were Caminar, who her parents were trying to barter with, making her dislike Caminar in general because she thought they would all be like the first ones she met. Nocia told her parents that she fell down. This incident made her even more withdrawn than she had been.
In the ten turns since that Gather, she has become good at weaving for an amateur and has avoided boys in general but boys with black or very dark brown hair the most because that was what the one that beat her up looked like. Her siblings however, even if they have dark hair, like her oldest brother, don't trigger the same panic.
A lot of boys from nearby small holds said she had no chance of Impressing and Nocia was elated when she was Searched and thus given a chance to prove them wrong. She was Searched by a green for the Weyr and has recently arrived. It took a long time for her to convince herself to try and the rider had almost left before she stepped forward. The green had both noted her and her shyness and was about to tell her rider about Nocia when Nocia stepped forward. Some of the boys from her area were Searched as well as herself and she has been nervously avoiding them ever since she reached the Weyr.

Desired Colors & Why: Green. The chromatics never get enough love in the books. I'm used to playing greens with female riders. I think a lot of people will be surprised by the green and try to talk to her. Also the green could help her make male friends as well.

Requests: A dragon that will help her come out of her shell, meaning friendly and energetic. I like patterns on my dragons and sometimes take them to extremes. Namewise, I don't really have a preference, just not crazy long to type out. A dark green named Taulhath and based on the cat bard from the book A Wizard Abroad would be amazingly awesome. Descriptionwise, slightly streaks that make the green look almost furry would be fun. Also, small at hatching but wil grow to be a good-sized green. Personalitywise, a slightly better memory and rather talkative is about all that I haven't put before.
