Name: Evelit
Gender: Female
Age: 19
Rank: Weyrfolk -- Possible Candidate
Of a slim yet lithe body figure, Evelit wears simple yet appealing skirts, traveling trousers and blouses, along with a beautifully shaded cloak that is the only thing of value that she owns. Jewelry, accessories, sashes, and ribbon, given to her by possible suitors were bartered away for marks or given to weyrbrats she cared for since arriving at the weyr. The slimness of her figure gives her a fragile appearance, making her an easy target of greedy eyes and hands when her guard is down.
Average in height, she stands 5'8", long limbs often making her seem taller than she really is. Well kept hair that sweeps down her back in light brown cascades down her back is hardly ever left as is. Almost always she ties it back lazily to keep it out of the way. Enchanting ice-green eyes are often the source of much joy, understanding, and, on occassion, annoyance.
Evelit is someone who projects nothing but what she is feeling. She is not, in any way, a fake. Known for her insightful words and ideas, it is safe to assume that whatever emotion appears on her face is what she is currently feeling. Despite it's rarity, there may come a time when no emotion at all is emitted from her gentle features. When such a time comes, people grow weary in her presense. It is often a bad omen, at least on their part.
She is kind and sacrificial, often seen working herself far more than she should. No, she is not a glory seeker. It is merely in her nature to put others before her well-being. For people that know her, it is quite obvious that she's stronger than her fragile appearance makes her off to be. With mischief constantly gleaming in her green eyes and a grin always playing on her lips, Evelit's youthful image often causes people to underestimate her potential. Good at observing, she is capable of reading body language fairly well, and often voices her observations to curious comrades nearby.
And though not accustomed to violence, Evelit has quick reflexes, that enable her to at least stand on her own for a short time should the matter arise. If given the option, Evelit would rather threaten someone than actually go through with her words. Of course, there are always moments when her anger would get the best of her and she'd actually keep to her threats.
Not exactly the symbol of the "excitement," Evelit grew up in what she considers to be a fairly average household. Born of Igen Hold, she spent the majority of her life hoisting sails, fishing, and, of course, gutting fish. Never one to fall into the "girl" category, Evelit was known throughout the hold as "that girl that out fished the Masterholder." However a fluke, and well-known as a fluke, Evelit and the other holders took it to themselves to mention it to the Lord Holder when he seemed to be slacking.
When not helping her family with the hold industry, she spent her time hunting for something other than fish with the other boys. Each outing, however, resulted in her being hauled back by her mother and forced into cleaning dishes and listening to boring tales she'd already heard 10 times. When she was sixteen, she'd had the luck of being fostered to a family in Telgar Weyr.
To her own embarrassment (and amusement) Evelit ended up punching the dragonrider that was to be her escort. The man had approached her from behind and, since all of her attention was placed on gutting a fish, she hadn't heard him. His greeting, "Do you think you should be gutting fish?" was something one of her recent bullies often said to her and she'd already been in a bad enough mood as it was. Having given him a black eye, she apologized several times for her "clumsiness" only to earn a laugh in response and, to her own annoyance, a kiss to act as her apology. Had her father not shown up when he had, the rider would've left with more than just a black eye. "I'd be honored to escort your daughter to the weyr." Flattered, Evelit's mother and father basically forced the girl onto the dragon's back, ignoring her protests for even having to touch the man.
Disgust towards the rider had caused a swift and unassisted dismount from the greenrider's dragon. To her satisfaction, that feat (and it was a struggle making it look graceful, as it was her first time dragonback) earned a surprised look from the rider and she took off with a muffled thank you. After descending the first flight of stairs, Evelit had finally realized that she hadn't the slightest clue where she was going. With much embarassment, she returned to a grinning dragonrider. "Missed me? How can I help you?"
After holding back her urge to push the man down the stairs several times, Evelit and her escort arrived at her new quarters and was swiftly welcomed into her new foster family. Her new mother worked in the infirmary, her younger brother had the usual chores, and her father was a cook in the kitchen. The first night, her mother had taken her aside and given her a word of caution. "Be wary of my son. He's taken a fancy to you already. If you're going to break his heart, be gentle." So long as the boy didn't overstep his boundaries, Evelit assured her she would do nothing to encourage the boy.
True to her word, as Evelit quickly found her place within the weyr, her brother soon found her to be more of a rival rather than a romantic interest. Evelit's days consisted of dodging surprising attacks and subjecting the boy to humiliation in front of his friends whilst in the middle of her own chores. Hard working, her foster parents found her to be a helpful addition and have told her so multiple times since the three turns she's been there.
Desired Colors & Why: Green
Evelit doesn't desire much status, so long as if she's left alone and given enough freedom, Evelit could care less about dragonrider status. As such, Evelit admires queenriders but could never see herself as one. Since there are no greenriders that are women, Evelit is unaware of a woman's ability to become one. However, if she were to impress, Evelit would be amused at the notion and accept it willingly enough. Even if she were to not impress, Evelit wouldn't think much of it. She's fine where she is.
Male Honorific: None
Requests: None that I can think of. Even if she weren't to Impress, I'm open to the idea of her getting hurt. A little excitement is good for Evelit.
