Physical Description
Erabel
Though Erabel might not be the prettiest thing on Pern, it is certain that the girl has quite a charm and beauty to herself. She stands at 5'6", a dwarf by her brother's side, though of a rather nice stature compared to the standard height of women. With rich dark brown hair, highlighted here and there by Rukbat rays, the similarity between her and Jipin is unquestionable. The only difference would be eye colors, hers being a warm chocolate hue -- and quite a contrast against J'pin's icy blue ones. Hes skin is soft to the touch, and of a rosy color. Unlike that of her brother, it refuses to tan -- though a sunburn now and again is not unlikely. Her hair is long and smooth, reaching down an inch or two past her mid back section.
Her face is rather oval, with almond shaped eyes and thin, brown eyebrows. The whole traits possess a softness to themselves, giving her a "baby face", as some would call it. Delicate rosy lips are often found in a neutral pose rather than smiling, and though she may seem as smooth and domesticated as most of those herdbeasts, a stern stare is enough to let anyone know she is far from that. Her physic is slender, with rather long and lean legs that give her speed. Like all girls, Erabel does take care of her appearance, and often wears garments that exhibits the feminine curves of her body. She's quite fond of vibrant, warm colors -- red, orange, yellow -- but also likes silver and shades of light browns and creams.
Personality
Quite liberal and "free", Erabel is the kind of girl some would consider a tomboy when smaller. Though she is careful of her appearance, and takes care of her looks, Erabel was never scared of hanging out with the guys since small. In fact, one could often find her racing against the boys when young, instead of being weaving with the girls. Though she can cook and weave, the outdoors is a place Erabel prefers more -- and she is more than glad to be given chores that require her to be active and moving rather than sitting at the same place.
Fetch the wherries, change the glows, take this to that person here. Whatever the task, she'll do it without a squeal -- though much protest and excuses come out of those gentle lips when the chores require weaving or sitting at a boiling pot for hours.
Still, as liberal as she may be -- Erabel is not as flirtatious as her looks and clothing choice might suggest. In fact, the girl isn't quite fond of flirting at all and, though she has had her experiences in the past, she's quick to put them behind and move on. Perhaps it's the life in a weyr that has made her so liberal about it, had she been raised in a Hold Erabel might have turned out entirely different. Alas, she is who she is -- and mighty proud to be Erabel, too. With the arrival of the Caminar she was excited, wondering what traits and customs they would bring with them -- and more than eager and curious to get to know them. Of course, this arose more rivalry between her and her brother -- whom Erabel avoids like the plague whenever she can. Still, as bad as her relation with her brother might be, Erabel is quite fond of Mahoruth -- and sometimes manages to help in cleaning the brown [his petition], ignoring the scowls and remarks of her older brother.
Background
Born seven turns after her older brother, Jipin, Erabel was also raised along the other weyrbrats of the weyr. However, she has little memory of her brother when young, for at the age of six turns he had been heading off to learn a craft. She would not see him again until eight turns later, when he would return. And thus, little Erabel was like an only child during that time, learning to fend for herself without an older sibling to lean against. She learned well, from cooking to weaving, and the girl rarely fussed or rejected doing this or that chore.
She even found the task of fetching the wherries for tonight's dinner, as well as with all the process and steps that followed afterwards, fun.
Upon the return of her brother she was not quite warm towards, and his possessive and over watchful disposition only made the girl lash back at him verbally more. She was used to her freedom, untamed and free, and suddenly this older sibling wished to restrain her and lock her away from the world. As old fashioned and conservative as Jipin might have been, it was clear Erabel did not share his same views. Soon he impressed a lovely brown, and the girl was more than pleased that he was now far too busy with a hatchling to nag at her. It was during this period when the lass fell into the grasp of an older man, the bronzerider being one of the losers of the Queen's flight. She had simply been at the wrong place, and at the wrong time.
However, Erabel did not fret about it. Instead the female simply washed it of, both literally and as a saying, before continuing with her daily duties and life. It was her well kept secret, one not even Jipin new about. Apparently, however, the bronzerider had found a liking to the girl -- and often harassed the female. Though Erabel never protested about it to anyone else. the female certainly made sure to keep her guard up -- and often remained in places where there were more people and females. Relief washed over her when the man was transfered, and shortly after the arrival of the Caminar came, along with the graduation of her brother. Intrigued by the travellers, Erabel was one of the few that was willing to let them stay out of hospitality -- though in the girl's case it was more out of curiosity.
Countless of times debates and disputes have emerged between the siblings about their standing on this matter, and they certainly have not helped ti bring them closer together.
Desired Colors: Gold or Green
Why?
Now, before I am murdered [XD], I'll explain why this choice of colors. Though I am fond of greens -- they are highly amusing and fun characters to play -- I am more keen towards the gold, even though it bears much more responsibilities. There's just something about them that is appealing, role playing the forming of a gold -- from a young hatchling that acts like a spoiled brat, to the matured Queen that can discern right from wrong [though some remain spoiled]. That and, of course, the amounts of creativity that are suck out of our being when a Hatching is finally managed. Coming up with the little dragons, their descriptions, everything.
I simply adore it.
Though that does not mean I would reject a green. Oh no, these smaller and agile creatures are a bunch of fun -- and in my opinion require just as much skill as that of a goldrider to play into their fullest. That's why either is alright with me, whichever of the two you feel that better suits Erabel. :3
