On the fifteenth day of the 11th month, after over four months absent from Telgar Weyr on mysterious business of the Weyrleader's, the wingsecond P'nset, wingrider G'tet, and Caminar Aleda returned to Telgar Weyr. With them came an unknown brown and his rider as well as another non-rider, a woman.
On this day several other interesting events occurred. The wide majority of Telgar Weyr - indeed, the wide majority of Pern - has no idea that anything changed; these people are unaware of the fact that history has changed, for as far as they remember it hasn't. The world has just always been this way (and for details about how it is, see the State of Pern and Timeline posts - they've changed!).
For a select few, however, the fifteenth day of the eleventh month was likely the strangest day of their lives. For these people, it seems that they simply woke up one day and found the world just changed. Suddenly Telgar Weyr was home to three women riding green dragons, two of them weyrlings. Suddenly the Weyr's territory was said to be rife with gambling dens and runner races. Suddenly M'tani was a hero. In fact the only big things that seemed to be the same were bad ones (most would say): The Caminar were still camped out in the Weyr's bowl, and the Holds and Halls of the region still seemed to be missing a significant number of kidnapped children.
These poor confused souls include about half of the Weyr's current weyrling class, a small handful of dragonriders, and all members of the party that J'fel sent to stop the plague (or investigate missing children, as many believe), returned or not.
If you play one of the PC Weyrlings, note that yes, your character will remember history as it was before the changes. Thus it will be a bit of a shock to wake up on the 15th and find that two of the male greenriders in your class are suddenly female greenriders. Other details mentioned above will also be news to your character.
If you play a dragonrider and you want knowledge of the old history (instead of remembering only history as it now stands), please PM OM and I'll help you get that sorted out; it will require a minor event somewhere in your character's background.
Anyone else with questions, just PM.
For everyone else, "life goes on": they remember history exactly as it seems to be (as described in State of Pern and Timeline). If you have any questions about your character's response to these events, comment here or PM Omnia Munda.
