Name: S’gur
Gender: Male
Age: 25
Rank: Greenrider
Physical Description:
When he was younger, S'gur was always regarded as the runt of among his friends and then his Weyrling group. He is not especially well built though this has improved as the turns have progressed. He is around 5'6" in height and is lean. His hair is a light sandy brown colour. S'gur is lightly tanned and has a few freckles across his nose. His left shoulder is scarred somewhat from a firestone incident when training in which he accidentally got caught in. Fortunately there was no serious damage and just left him with a burn scar. S'gur's face is a little rounded and gets dimples when he smiles. His eyes are also round and brown in colour.
Personality:
On a whole, S'gur has a happy disposition. He is optimistic and cheerful, though not to the point where it gets irritating (in most peoples eyes). He is a well grounded person, a realist at essence and takes great pleasure in the simple things in life. When some people seeing him just sit there and watch the world go by with a small smile upon his face, they believe him to be simple. S'gur most certainly isn't simple, though he isn't the brightest of the bunch either. He is about average but he is fairly good with people, often chatting, joking and smiling. A few days before Glosolith rises, S'gur is somewhat prone to bad moods: he becomes irritable and antisocial and often shuts himself away. He also has some mildly obsessive-compulsive tendencies in the way that he needs to keep both his dragon and Weyr immaculate at all times, which Glosolith doesn't complain about. When ever the Caminar are around though, S'gur does become a little stand-offish and is one of those in the Weyr who seriously opposes the presence of the Caminar.
Background:
S’gur was born to a middle aged couple in Telgar Hold. Most people who knew them had ended up presuming that they would never conceive, especially seeing how they were in their mid 30’s and his mother had always been adamant against having children. Accidents happen I guess. So along came S’gur, or Sigur as he was known in those days. His life was quiet and contented one. He helped his father, who was a weaver, dreamed of being a rider and played with his friends at the Hold. It was a quiet life for sure, but a happy one. But the time he was 11, his mother became pregnant once again. Before he knew it, Sigur had become the big brother to a pretty baby girl. Like his parents, Sigur doted on the little girl, Rosé. During the 13th turn of Sigur’s life, a life changing event happened: He was searched. A blue rider who had come to search for any potential riders for the Weyr’s latest clutch and picked Sigur, and another boy, to stand. Sigur was a little distressed about leaving his family and his quiet life behind but it was with a sense of excitement and adventure that he went to the Telgar Weyr. So along came the fateful day of the hatching. Sigur stood along side many other boys in front of the large clutch and the awe-inspiring queen. A dark, dusky green dragon spilled forth from one of the eggs during the early stages of the hatching and Sigur swiftly found that her name was Glosolith as she came tumbling towards him. A few moments after that, it sunk in that he had impressed. With unbridled joy, he led his beloved dragon away for feeding, unaware of the envious eyes of those who had yet to impress upon him. S’gur and Glosolith excelled in their Weyrling training and before long they had graduated and were productive members of the Weyr. He had always visited his family on a regular basis, delighting in spending time with his sister. However on his last visit he was devastated to find that his sister had gone missing a few days before. They did search high and low for her but they could find no trace of her. S’gur was dismayed when his duties at the Weyr called him back and halted his part in the search for Rosé. When the news of other children going missing reached his ears, along side the rumours that the Caminar were to blame for it, S’gur had a hard time not believing it to be true. So when the Caminar started to flood into the Telgar, it is safe to say that S’gur was not best pleased with the situation. Just as he was expecting good old S’lyn to throw them out, a new Weyrleader took charge. S’gur has yet to make up his mind about J’fel, but his current lack of action regarding the situation had not impressed this Greenrider one bit.
Dragonriders
Dragon's Name: Glosolith
Color: Green
Age: 12 turns
Physical Description: Glosolith is dark shade of green, a little on the dusky side too. In fact the hue of her hide could be described as seagreen. Her wing membranes and underside, however, are a few tones lighter than the rest of her. She is about average build and size for a green.
Personality: Glosolith has an outgoing personality and is quite boisterous. She also has a short attention span and gets bored quickly. In the early days of her training, the Weyrling master has much trouble with her and S'gur due to the fact that he was fairly similar and they tended to finish the tasks set reasonably quickly. Though as the turns passed she has became slightly more subdued and patient, but is still has a fairly 'puppy' like demeanor.
