The weyrwoman has been somewhat absent of late from social gatherings. J’fel continues to host his little gatherings and the headwoman continues to be seen handling the day to day runnings of Telgar, but where is Aderes? Speculation is heating up on what is keeping the senior weyrwoman in her weyr.
Some whisper she is pregnant and trying to hide it because it is some unknown man’s child. Others whisper that J’fel tried to poison her and although it failed she’s still recovering. Although that latter whisper is done quietly and not taken seriously by anyone but those who say it because, really, J’fel could never do that!
What is wrong with Aderes? Is it anything? Maybe she just wore herself out trying to run the Weyr? That is why there is a weyrleader after all. It’s just not healthy for a woman to try to handle so much on her own. Whatever is wrong with Aderes it has turned all sorts of speculation towards the weyrling weyrwoman. Will Aderes send her away for sure now? Or will she keep her? No one who knows the senior thinks she’s ready to give up her authority, but what if she has no choice?
