Name: G’tet
Gender: Male
Age: 20
Rank: Greenrider in Sleet Wing
He’s not a handsome man, but G’tet gets his share of admiring glances. A solid man who went from the sturdiness of a laborer to the sturdiness of a rider he has an air of stability to him. Well muscled there’s nothing at all lean about his tall frame.
Chestnut hair is worn short allowing natural curls to have their way with his head. His features are elongated from nose to chin giving his head a somewhat odd shape. Hazel eyes boast lashes most women dream of and a small scar on his chin is visible owing to his always clean-shaven appearance.
He dresses in brightly colored shirts with black pants unless in his riding gear. A dagger with a bejeweled pommel is worn at his left side and in his left ear he bears a gold hoop with a tiny emerald dangling from it.
G’tet has a streak of impulsiveness within him that he tries to suppress. For the most part he is staid, steady, one who can be relied on. But every now and again he gets the urge to just let go. The wrong decision gets made and he winds up in a mess. Luckily he is good natured and earnest and the wrong decision has yet to lead to any truly ill luck. Deep down he wouldn’t give up that impulsive streak. Being mature and responsible would get dull if that were all one aspired to.
G’tet was born Garatet in a smallish hold in Telgar’s territory. Like his twin sister he was the terror of the area. They were, from the time they could walk, causing no end of mischief. Close like any twins would be they seemed to not care if anyone else was about or interested in their schemes. While they knew eventually they would have to part to their own adult lives until then they were inseparable.
When Garatet was sixteen a searchrider arrived at their hold to bring boys back to Telgar. Garatet was thrilled to the bone when he was one of the lucky ones selected. His tearful goodbye to his sister did not lessen the thrill inside of him. The time as a candidate passed with little worth mentioning. He befriended those he could, but remained lonely for the bond with his sister.
When the dragons began to hum Garatet just knew his life was about to change. Him and all the others, sure, but he –knew- it. On the hot sands it was all a blur of cheering from the crowd and heat and just hatched dragons up closer. All of the action was taken in with the air of a young man trying to remember it all. None of which was important the moment a large green came into view.
And so Kalpeth found her G’tet and he had now a bond much more than what he had with his sister. As soon as he was able he went home to show off. Genet was thrilled for her brother even if the rest of her family, well, a green. A plan was hatched and G’tet promised as soon as there was a reason he would bring his sister to the Weyr with him.
Until then G’tet enjoyed his new place in life. Being a rider was all he could have wanted and life at the Weyr was certainly more easy and interesting than life at the hold had been. Especially with the new Weyrleader. A pushover it was said of him amongst those G’tet consorted with. The next several turns were bound to be easy ones. Good ones too with the arrival of his sister. The queen had finally laid what was believed to be a gold egg. A favor called in led to his sister's arrival.
Things were sure to get interesting now.
Dragon's Name: Kalpeth
Color: Green
Age: 4
Physical Description: Kalpeth is not a petite green. She may not be abnormally large, but she does push the boundaries of normal. For all that she is still pretty enough with a rich emerald color over her. Her belly and wings are a shade or two lighter with a swirled sort of blending where the colors meet. Her back left leg bears a nasty scar that ends where dark talons begin. This leaves her with something of a wobbly take off and landing at times.
Personality: Kalpeth puts the word flighty to the test. One minute she has something important to say on the herdbeast she feasts on and the next she is taken up with the blue over there who has the most stunning wings. This makes it impossible for her to form even the slightest of connections to anyone and those made by her rider often confuse her. G’tet often jokes about how Kalpeth would forget she existed without him and she just tells him that would be why she has him before moving on to the next thing. She defines living in the moment to the extreme.
